"Urban weekend?"
What the hell is this about? I guess the other fifty one weeks we'resuppose to "keep our place". I guess the city had enough political pressurefrom self-imposed community leaders that they had to do something to give the impression that they care for all members of the community. I'm still trying to see the benefit amongst the increased parking prices and triple Police presence downtown. I feel much safer now.
As I arrive at the Speakeasy some company is renting the venue for a party. They wanted us to play as well but wanted to pay us peanuts. Sorry! Only squirrels work for peanuts. Now the DJ is playing everything we're playing tonight, so he needs to bounce. We finally took the stage and played to the most non-urban crowd I've ever seen in Speakeasy. Train and Hook made some new friends, but outside of that the night was quiet. Except for Hook taking a solo from the balcony. Not many people out maybe too much competition or just general fear. I mean Little Richard and George Clinton were playing in town tonight for free. Hell I wish I could have went.
