We were off tonight so here's my chance to be in the ordinary world for a night. I had the chance to watch one of the coolest shows in a long time. Buddy Guy is one of the greats, a living legend. In that two hour show I was schooled in the art of dynamics, presence, and guitar mastery. No distortion pedal and no funky costumes. Just live music with some soul and a smile. He even walked into the audience and played guitar. At one point he came up to me when singing a verse and winked at me.
I took it as him appreciating me holding a torch. Maybe just my imagination but it works for me. Just when you think you've got it all down someone comes into town and shows you something new. That's one more thing I love about this old music thang!Magz
